about us

Do you remember the first time you peer reviewed a manuscript? How it changed the way you looked at your own manuscripts? Similarly, the first time on a review panel can profoundly change how you write your own research plans, or even how you plan your research. Our aim is to give you that experience.

Many years of helping researchers improve their research proposals has convinced us it is best to educate researchers beyond improving current funding proposals.

Dr. Folmer Bokma

Folmer started giving grant writing workshops to early-career researchers for departments and graduate schools over 10 years ago. He obtained his PhD in animal ecology in Finland, and became associate professor in evolutionary biology and senior lecturer in zoology in Sweden. As research group leader he obtained several major grants, and has been panel member and ad-hoc reviewer for funders like German DFG, the ERC, and NSF. He has also worked with research analytics and as funding officer in Sweden and the Netherlands.

Dr. Anders Wennström

For the past 15 years, Anders has devoted most of his time to supporting researchers in their quest to attract funding. He is an accredited research manager and has built and developed central university research support at Umeå University, Sweden, and at the University of Melbourne, Australia, with a focus on educating and providing writing support to researchers across disciplines and career stages.  His experience from major funders like the ERC, NIH and various research councils has proven invaluable to many applicants. He obtained his PhD in plant ecology in Sweden, with a focus on the dynamics of plant-pathogen interactions in perennial plant populations.
